Allendale East Area School Multi-use Building and Alterations
Allendale East, SA

A new multi-use building was designed to incorporate the new library, two general learning areas, a technical studies room for metal and wood work and new art room. These new facilities were joined by new internal courtyard, where checked paving was used to provide large checkers board and warm colours were used brighten the mood on a winter morning.

The courtyard was orientated north to allow as much natural light in as possible and provides some beautiful dramatic effects in the morning and during the afternoon. It also included a retrofit of agricultural science rooms. A great relationship between builder, school and architect ensured a great result and learning environment.
